Smackdown: Dollish Polish The Many Shades of Mr. Grey vs Lynnderella 50 Shades of May-Be

Giveaway!

Thought I would compare these two because I was curious and thought someone else would be as well. They are nothing alike but it's good to know for sure. I do think that if you have Connect the Dots (or a polish like it) and a greyish glitter you can get a nice approximation of 50 Shades of May-Be.

Lynnderella Common Sense

Another Lynnderella from the Sweet Something's for a Summer Solstice collection. Pink and copper mix and it looks rough but it is actually smooth to the touch. I used a coco brown base but I don't think it was the best choice. I think next time I'll wear it over a hot pink or a navy.

Smackdown: Lynnderella vs Others

I compared a few of the newer Lynnderella polishes. I didn't compare all of them but just the few that stood out to me that may have possible dupes. I will say that if you have a few of the LA Girl Glitter Addict polishes, some of the Jordana Glitter polishes and a number of Indie brands you have a very nice selection that you can play with to get the look of a number of Lynnderella polishes.

If I looked harder I am sure I could find other polishes that could match the other colors from the collection. My point is: don't kill yourself trying to get a Lynnderella polish! There are a number of other brands that could sate the glitter hunger. This post is not meant to be an insult to Lynnderella but more to show that there are options if you can't get or afford her nail polish. Also, to maybe encourage some playing with layering and glitters.

First up is Lynnderella Inner Space, 365 Days Of Color Explosion and Lynnderella Pentimento. My first impression is that Inner Space and Pentimento are really close to each other. If I was able to buy them separately I would have gone with Pentimento. Explosion is close to both of them. None are dupes to each other and I see differences but I think Explosion may sooth the lust burn for either Lynnderella.

Next is Lynnderella Common Sense and Red Carpet Lacquer Shelby. Again, not dupes but both have that pink/copper look on the nail. The shape and finish of the glitter are different but they are a bit related. There is also a pink LA Girl Glitter Addict polish that could work to get this look.

Last is Lynnderella I Don't Mean Rhinestones and Jordana Cosmic. They are very close with Cosmic having larger silver glitter thrown into the mix.

You can purchase 365 Days of Color here, Red Carpet Lacquer here, Lynnderella here and LA Girl and Jordana here. I hope this helped or inspired you!

Lynnderella The Garden of Even

I suppose that everyone has heard that Lynnderella is now selling her nail polish on Ebay. You can find her listings here. I was looking around the other day and happen to run across a listing for her Sweet Something's for a Summer Solstice collection. I bought a set and immediately felt a bit quesy because, holy shit, that's a lot of money for nail polish. I got over it. Sort of. I'm going to make the cats get a job to pay for my polish.

I decided to wear The Garden of Even first. It's a magenta/pink/purple kind of color with tons of sparkle. The base is tinted (intentional bleeding?) and it's tinted enough that you could wear it alone but I decided to wear it over Precision Intoxicated. I had to dabble the glitter on which makes me wish the base was thicker so I had to dabble less. I'm a bit leary of the bleeding thing and I hope this means the color from the glitter won't fade in time. It sure does sparkle but I'm not totally loving it.

Please pardon any cat hair stuck to my nails.

Smackdown: Lynnderella Mercury's Rainbow vs. All That Glitters Space Rock

These are not exact dupes but I think they are close enough to be kissing cousins. I actually prefer Space Rock over Mercury's Rainbow because it has a clear base which means I can wear it over all sorts of colors making it more versatile. The fine shimmer in the base of Space Rock sparkles as much as the bigger pieces of glitter. I really, really like them both but Space Rock wins for me. This may help if have been wanting the Lynnderella.

You can purchase All That Glitters Space Rock from her etsy shop. Lynnderella is sold through llarowe through a wishlist system.

Lots of photos and I would love to hear your thoughts and opinions. The photos can be enlarged so feel free to click on them.

Alone. Space Rock is one coat and Mercury's Rainbow is about three.

Over a deep charcoal and here is where they look like kissing cousins.

Over a light grey.

Under a cooler light.

Smackdown: Lynnderella Connect The Dots vs Cover Band Sticks 'n Stones vs Dollish Polish Putting On The Ritzzz

Don't forget about the raffle!

My Goodness! Can that title be any longer? I thought you all would be interested in seeing a few black and white glitters so I am comparing Connect the Dots, Sticks 'n Stones and Putting on the Ritzzz!

Lynnderella Connect the Dots has a shimmery base with fine multi-sized black and white glitter including bar. It has a thin formula and, until it thickens, it needs to be dabbed on to get fuller coverage on the nail. More Nail Polish has a great video showing the dabbing application. You can buy Lynnderella through Llarowe if you don't mind waiting or the drama that sometimes come with this brand.

Cover Band Sticks 'n Stones has a clear base with larger multi-sized black and white glitter including bar. There is a sprinkling of fine glitter in the base but it doesn't add shimmer but more of a little spark here and there on the nail. The formula is denser and you only need one coat to get very good glitter coverage. You can buy Sticks 'n Stones through Ninja Polish.

Dollish Polish Putting on the Ritzzz! has a clear base with multi-sized black and white glitter but without the bar glitter. The formula was dense and only one coat is needed for great glitter coverage. It has more medium sized glitter and is less subtle compared to Stick 'n Stones but larger than Connect the Dots. You can buy Putting on the Ritzzz! from Dollish Polish.

I have to say that I really like Sticks 'n Stones. It's bolder and a bit more defined and it doesn't have a shimmery base. I think Connect the Dots is an amazing glitter but the shimmer base keeps me from totally loving it. On certain colors that shimmer can make it look cloudy/milky. Second place goes to Putting on the Ritzzz! because it's a basic black and white glitter with some oomph. Also, it's inspired by one of my favorite moves - Young Frankenstein. If you haven't watched it I hight recommend it.

Here they are together so you can see the difference more clearly. I hope this helped if you were curious about these polishes.

Here they are over a blue.
