BB Couture Sea of Cortez

BB Couture does micro-shimmer/twinkle light polishes so very well. There is something very soothing about this color.

BB Couture Bonnie

I dislike the name of this polish. It made me seriously hesitate in buying it. I have a huge dislike for the romanticizing of criminals and bad people. Actually the whole Infamous Lovers collection annoyed me. Irrational but true.

In my mind this polish is named Isle. It's a lush emerald green jelly with that pinpoint glitter that BB Couture does so well. Stunning. Pity that they went up in price.

BB Couture Erotic Night

I love a good vampy jelly. They are sexy and shiny and just plain gorgeous. The only drawback is that they show everything like a glass top table does. Smudges, dust, hair, and after I scratch my leg it looks kind of gross and yet oddly intriguing with little dry skin flakes on the nail. I put up with it because that is the kind of stoic person I am!

Erotic Night reminds me of black cherry jam or soda. I expect it to have a fruit smell. I did notice that my bottle has very, very faint shimmer. Really faint but it is there. Or maybe I am slowly going blind. I do have to say that this is one of those vampy shades that looks great on short and long nails.

BB Couture Poison Ivy

Today is Thanksgiving here in the US and I plan on eating, napping, eating and maybe another nap. Ahh, the life of a glutton!

I'm still on a green kick and Poison Ivy is a great plant green. Reminds of what plants look like after a heavy rain and they are flourishing. It's a yellow based green creme. Great formula and only two coats were needed.

BB Couture Saturday Night Fever

BB Couture does green really well. They also tend to do glitter polishes really well. I think they should attempt a Starry Starry Night color. That would be great! Saturday Night Fever is a rich deep green with green/gold glitter. It doesn't scream glitter which is a plus for me and it doesn't take hours to remove. These photos were after taken after wearing the polish for a bit over two days.

Click the photos to see the glitter.

BB Couture Universal Joint

BB Couture does greens really well. I never have a complaint about the formula and I really enjoy the brand. I'm a few short from having all the greens from BB Couture but I will get there! It's nice to have goals.

Universal Joint is an olive green with gold and pink shimmer. The pink shimmer gives it a light duochrome quality in that it flashes pink. It was really hard to photograph the pink flash. Really unique.

Some close ups to show the shimmer. Remember to click for a larger photo.

I get my BB Couture from Overallbeauty.

Two Bundle Monster Manicures

I was painting my nails and realized that I haven't actually used any of my Bundle Monster plates. Doh! So I dug them out and put them to use. I found actually using them for a manicure was so much easier than swatching them. Ha! So here are a two manicures I did using them.

This one is BB Couture Caterpillar (awesome green!) with the vine image from BM20 using China Glaze 2030. I like this one but I find I am partial to those images that look like fabric.

This one didn't really come out like I pictured it in my head. I think I should have used a full nail image. I was going for a psychedelic/3D image kind of feel. The small image gets lost with the glitter. I used Color Club Magic Attraction with the spiral/flower image from plate BM03 using Konad black polish.

Magic Attraction is one of my favorite glitters! Love it! Photos do not do it justice. And my middle finger nail isn't pointed! The polish wasn't 100% dry when I stamped. I'm so impatient.

The Color of Grey

Vedra requested some grey comparisons and I started doing that and added a few. I didn't do a true comparison but just some swatching. I figured you all can get a feel for how they look from the photos.

I love grey. It can be elegant or edgy. It's also neutral and can go with pretty much anything. I have a number of grey polishes in a vast range. Grey can be dark and smokey to pale and vibrant. Grey has a variety that black just can't have. I'm drawn to grey they way I am to green.

Here are a few from my stash that were requested and a few I threw in for fun.

American Apparel Factory Grey. A grey with an undertone of purple to it. It reminds me more of a purple/taupe/grey as opposed to a classic grey.

Pure Ice Kiss Me Here. Your basic grey creme. Identical to my eye to China Glaze Recycle.

Barielle Shades U-Concrete-Me. The shade of wet concrete. A very nice grey that is a bit darker than Kiss Me Here and Recycle.

Catrice London's Weather Forecast. Mid tone blue grey with shimmer. Yum! Formula is a bit thick but I so love the Catrice polishes that I have. I need more!!

Zoya Kelly. Love this one. It's a smokey dark grey with a strong purple undertone. Possibly morbid but it reminds me of a healing bruise.

Nubar Marble Tower. I think Nubar's Fortress collection is a really nice collection of grey shades and I highly recommend it. This one is a pale white grey that is a little stark but still kind of funky.

BB Couture Opposites Attract. This has subtle sparkles and is one of my favorite grey polishes. That little hint of black sparkle tickles me.

China Glaze Recycle. A classic grey creme. I think this is a must for everyone.

BB Couture Kelly's Green

When I first saw a swatch of this I thought it would be perfect for me. I love green polishes and avocados. As a side note, an avocado is a fruit but did you know that the Supreme Court ruled that the tomato is both a fruit and vegetable? Ah, the American justice system at its best! Nihrida made me think of this with her tomato post.

Anyway, like I was saying green and avocado. Hell yeah! I ordered the complete Vampy Varnish collection and finally pulled this one out to wear it. The thing is, it is not avocado green. This is a sage green. It has too much grey in it to be called avocado. I love it, don't get me wrong, but I was expecting the color to be like what Kelly posted here. Mine is a murky sage green with blueish green flecks and a few black with some silver glitter. I don't think I would feel comfortable eating an avocado that had a grey tinge to it.

Check it out and give me your thoughts. It is different right? I'm not seeing things am I?

I still love it and it reminds me of a cousin of RBL ONS.

BB Couture Blind Love

I wanted this BB Couture for a bit. I decided to finally just buy the damn thing. I found some lace while cleaning out my Grandma's house and it had this golden/silver tarnished look and this polish reminds me of that. There is some wear but that is all on me and not the formula.

Here is Lloyd. He stole my glasses, again, and I have no idea where he hid them.

Naughty kitty!
