This was the only polish I bought from the Essie 2012 Summer collection. Periwinkle is one of my favorite colors and it's not a color you see very often in nail polish. Bikini So Teeny has a stupid name but the soft delicate periwinkle color is so lovely. It's both muted and vibrant. It's magic! In the bottle it has shimmer but it's non-existent once on the nail so I classify it as a creme. The formula is thin and I needed three coats to get opaque but I didn't have any issues with application. 

Any periwinkle polishes that you can suggest? I'd love to hear them! My apologies for the tip wear!

I really need to stay off Etsy but there is so many polishes to discover! My new crush is with matte glitter. I'm enjoying the glitter without the shine. It reminds me of paper confetti sprinkled on the nail. Shellie from F4 Polish has pink, purple and white matte glitters in various sizes. I got a number of compliments on this polish and a few - "That's nail polish?!" comments. It was amusing. 

This is one coat of Shellie over OPI Care to Danse. I dabbled because I wanted a denser coating compared to brushing it on. I also needed two coats of topcoat to get a smooth feeling. It's not a topcoat drinker but it does dry with texture and some of the larger pieces didn't lay completely flat.

This is a lovely charcoal grey glitter polish. It has a soft industrial look to it on the nail and it sparkles but not the same way a brighter color sparkles. This is only one coat and it makes my hands look good. It's a favorite of mine. I received this in a swap since Bloom is only available in Australia as far as I know. Pity.

Smackdown: Nerd Lacquer All of Time and Space vs Pound of Glitter Never Enough of These

I was browsing Etsy (as usual) and discovered a new brand/creator - Pound of Glitter. Never Enough of These caught my eye so I bought it. I'm easy! When I received it I realized that it is really, really close to Nerd Lacquer's All of Time and Space but, in my opinion, better. I decided to do a Smackdown! 

The base of All of Time and Space is a deeper green and it doesn't have that fine holo glitter that Never Enough of These contains. The formula of Never Enough of These is smooth and easy to work with and no sinking glitter. The thinner formula also allows the glitter to show better and also gives the option to layer it over a creme. My only complaint with Pound of Glitter is that there is no brand label on the bottle. All of Time and Space has a thicker formula and the glitter sinks. It has a rougher looking texture when it dries and it doesn't need to be layered. 

They are both beautiful polishes but I have to declare Never Enough of These the winner because it has a better formula and overall look. Also, it's way, way easier and cheaper to acquire so if you have been wanting All of Time and Space I highly recommend Never Enough of These. I purchased Never Enough of These directly from Pound of Glitter on Etsy. I can't wait for Gray Matter to come back in stock! Sadly, Nerd Lacquer is no longer available for retail purchase.

Giveaway!

I bought the newest offerings from Red Carpet Lacquer and I decided to wear Let's Split Up Gang first. I always worry about blue and white glitter polishes having a patriotic feel to them but not this one. The orange gives it a sort of retro look to it especially when worn over a 70's type shade. This has such a smooth base formula that makes working with the glitter a dream. 

One coat of Let's Split Up Gang over CQ Honey which is a mustard yellow creme. I'm resigned to having bubbles in my polish because of the air conditioner and I refuse to turn if off. It's summer and it's HOT and I'm all about creature comforts.
