Swatches: Nars Night Series

I love Nars. I love Nars the way some folks love Chanel or RBL. I heard whispers about the Night Series nail polish and called up Nordstrom and ordered them. I didn't hesitate and when the dust settled I realized they were $17 a bottle. Ouch. Well, the cats have food so they won't starve so all is good in my world.

They aren't the most unique polishes in the world but the formula is lovely on all of them. Night Rider is two coats and if I were careful I could have done one with the rest. I'm liking them but they could be duped at a much cheaper price so unless you are a collector (or crazy) don't feel too bad if you don't get them.

Night Rider. A soft lilac with lots of shimmer and sparkle. It has a slight foil finish. Very pretty and delicate looking.

Night Flight. A deep sapphire blue with pearly shimmer. Dark but doesn't look black.

Night Porter. Green! A deep green with shimmer.

Night Breed. A black with silver glitter.

Butter London Knees Up

You know that wrapping paper that is red and shiny and has a slight foil look to it? This is what that polish looks like on the nails. Bright and glowing red with a slight metallic quality to it without it being metallic. There are brush stroks in these photos but in real life it is smooth. Great formula.

I would put it in the ruby red category. It leans a bit to the cool side but not overly. Really just a lovely polish.

Misa Got It Made In The Shade

This is from the Hip To My Jive collection which is the newest collection from Misa. I only bought two from that offering and this was one of them. The formula is so creamy and smooth with no patchy or bald spots when applying. This is the formula that I am used to from Misa. I do wonder if I am going to get burned out on this color but I haven't yet. Until I do I will continue to enjoy these murky sage polishes.

It's a pretty good dupe to OPI Stranger Tides but has a better formula. If you aren't a fan of OPI for whatever reason this Misa is a good choice if you have been wanting that color.

I decided to add some crackle tips. It looks like lace and I am surprised at how much I like it.

SpaRitual Shooting Star

Shooting Star is from the 2011 Twinkle collection which is the holiday collection. I picked up a mini bottle of it from AveYou and it's really pretty! A sparkly dense magenta. Two coats and the formula is wonderful. The best part is that it dries smooth and shiny even without a topcoat.

It's a happy sexy color and I think this is going to look awesome on the toes.

Finger Paints Fall 2011: Fall Fashionista

I love this collection. LOVE! All of the colors are wonderful but the formula! The formula on all of them is superb. They are creamy and silky smooth with great pigmentation. I am very impressed with the formula. They all dried to a high shine and went on like a dream. So rich. They all have a creme finish which I like. As much as I like glitter and duochrome polishes, I enjoy a good creme. They make a great base to build on with effects, glitter or nail art.

Now some of these colors aren't going to be unique to the nail polish world but they are unique to Finger Paints. I lined all the bottles up and looked at them (I like to do that) and, when viewed together like that, the collection makes a beautiful palette. They all have a muted and soft feel which I adore. This collection reminds me of StrangeBeautiful and something they would release as a collection.

You can purchase Finger Paints at Sally Beauty. These retail for under $5 and if you catch a sale or have a coupon that price can go down further. And for such a low price these are a steal! This is the first Fall collection where I liked/loved all of the polishes. I actually wore these and not just swatched them. Not going to be everyone's taste but I love the entire collection. I really do!

Cordur-Orange. I fell in love with this one. I really like the muted spice feel this has and it's a great fall color.

Cordur-Orange stamped using blue Konad polish and plate BM-201. I really like orange and blue together.

Military Green. Ahh, love. I don't care if there are a million other colors like this in my collection. I can't get enough of this color.

Military Green with Nicole by OPI Pitch-Back Glimmer

Raspberry Taffeta. This one was a surprise because it's not a color I am normally drawn to but it looks good on me. I can see pulling this out to wear in the future.
