Smackdown: OPI Catch Me in Your Net vs Zoya Charla

Yes, yes. We have heard that OPI Catch Me in Your Net and Zoya Charla are identical but I wanted to test that assumption.

This color is so difficult to photograph. If you own either you know what I mean. They are both this gorgeous combo of green and blue that does not come across in photos. I tweaked the first photo to try and get it accurate but I didn't. It's close but not perfect.



Now for the comparison. What doesn't come across is the sparkle and depth both of these polishes have to them. Zoya has more bling and smidge more depth. The OPI formula was a bit thin and I am wearing three coats and still have visible nail. The Zoya also seems to have a bit more green to it as well. Again, so hard to show this in photos!

Now the general public won't notice much of a difference but a nail polish lover will! I'm going to go with Zoya for the win. The formula is better, the sparkle/shimmer is more pronounced and it doesn't have the wide brush.

Any of you have both and have a preference?

My Mom snatched this one up really quickly. She can move when she wants to! She loves red and it was the only color she wore for a long time. I introduced her to purple and glitter. Now she feels naked without what she calls bling. Her favorite Konad stamp is the bubbles. I have created a monster.

Borghese Red was one of the bottles that were sent to me for review. I really like a good red creme and this one is a stunner! The formula, oh man. One coat for my nails and two for my Mom. So creamy and smooth. My Mom says this is in her top 10 but nothing will take the place of Nubar Peacock Feathers which is in her number one slot.

They also sent me a bottle of Magnetico Adhesive Base Coat but I don't use gripper type basecoats so I didn't think I could judge it fairly. My Mom does so she used it. She likes it. It dried really quick and seemed to fill in the ridges she has on her nails which made the polish go on a lot better for her. So she gives it an A+.

So here is my Mom wearing Borghese Red. Her nails are real and she does nothing to them. Nothing. No treatments, no basecoat other than a bonder type, no special oils or balm and she rarely has a chip or a break. I'd hate her but she is my Mom.

This is three days of wear.





My hand over my Moms. Ahh, we match! Pity I didn't inherit her long fingers.

These bottles were sent to me for review and that is what kicked me into wanting to swatch some Borghese. I know some folks are leary of bloggers who rave about polishes they got for free and that is understandable. I wanted to show a few that I actually bought because though I love the fact that Borghese sent these to me I would actually buy them. I own a few more but I'll show them at a later date.

If you get the chance to try this brand - do! They have an elegant and consistent formula and wear so well. I did have a red to show you but my Mom took that one so her nails will be having a post of her own in the near future.

Bella Berry. Yummy! Plus my cat is named Bella.





Mezzanotte Blue. Almost has a jelly quality to it.





Palermo Plum. My Mom took this one too after I swatched it.





Plumaggio Purple. My favorite of the bunch. I had this on my list to buy but couldn't find it. It has this awesome sparkle to it. This one of those colors that looks great on nubs and long nails.

Ciao! Borghese Almondine and Biscotti Beige

Borghese Almondine is one of my favorite polishes. It's speckled and reminds me of soapstone. It also has this pink sheen. It's a safe color with a twist. It also wears really well.





Borghese Biscotti Beige is a pale beige with a touch of pink so it isn't too brown. This goes on smooth and dries really shiny! Biscotti Beige was sent to me for review but I was this close to buying it on Ebay before getting it.

Continuing my Borghese posting because this brand needs some love.

Stellare Notte is a really cool polish. It's a duochrome and typically these dark duochromes have a purple base and this one does but it also has teal/green and sparkles. The purple is lighter given it an almost steel grey look. I discovered this one in a mini set I bought in the winter sometime. They did release it to a full size but I could never find it! Ugh! I did get a full size from Borghese to review but I already knew I loved it! So though this bottle was free I would have snatched it up quick if I found it in the store. Yes, even at full price. I know, shocking!

I wanted to see if layering changed it any so on the middle finger I have Finger Paints Cobolt Cardigan and on the ring finger I have Americal Apparel Hunter. I didn't see much of a difference and this one is opaque enough not to need layering.
