Essie 2010 Summer Collection

I was only going to buy the green from this collection but I scored the entire collection on Ebay for a really great price. A few of them suprised me and I'm only "eh" about two of them. The formula was a bit thick but that is my experience with most Essie polishes. I needed at least three coats on all of them. They were a bit streaky on the first coat but things smoothed out with the second coat. Basically it is standard Essie formula from my stand point.

My opinion - the only stand outs in this collection are Pretty Edgy and Demure Vixen.

I do regret that I couldn't photograph these in the sun. Ah well.

Knockout Pout. Not much to say - it's pink and it dries to a satin. It's vibrant without being neon. It reminds me of Pepto Bismol.







Haute as Hello. A vibrant coral/pink/melon kind of color. Not a favorite color and looks really awful on me.







Vermillionaire. Wow. This one suprised me. It's a vibrant orange and I like it! So bright and juicy.







Miss Matched. I didn't think I was going to like this one but I do. Have I found a pastel that I like? I do believe I have! It's not stark at all. It's soft and light and lovely. Looks like it has a bit of pink and lavender in it. If you find pastels are stark, like me, you may want to check this out. I did need four coats on this though.







Demure Vixen. A light mauve that has a hint of coco which gives it a dusty look. There is subtle shimmer to this one. Another favorite.

Pretty Edgy. Ah, the one I wanted! A glossy vibrant spring green. Yum! This reminds me of a 90's preppy green that Ralph Lauren would have put out in a polo or a green a golfer would wear.

Street Wear - The Two Toads

Revlon Street Wear had this weird habit of having two different colors but both having the same name. They even have the same number on the cap. An example of that is Toad. One is an olive green and the other is a yellow based green. I think they should have named the lighter version Tree Frog.

Ulta Glam Goth Collection

This was such a suprise. It's June and Ulta put out a collection of five mini bottles that are all vampy and dark. You would expect to see this in the fall or for Halloween. Good job Ulta! I bought this set online so if you can't get to an Ulta try the website. I actually bought two sets for something I have planned. *wink* *wink*

The formula on these are a tad thick and the first coat went on streaky but the second coat fixed everything. Now the brushes on these are a pain for me. I have small hands and small nail beds. This brush is wide and thick and because they are mini bottles the stem is short. I had a bit of a time getting a clear view of my nail while painting. I wish the brush was thinner but otherwise I can't complain! Really great colors for a summer release.

Black Lace is a smokey dark slate. Like OPI Suzi Skis in the Pyrenees.







Tainted Love is a green with gold shimmer. Looks very, very much like Sally Hansen Project Runway.







For Bitten is a red shimmer in a dark base. Reminds me of Chanel Feu De Russie







After Hours is a dark grape purple with shimmer. I tweaked this a bit in Photoshop (I'm learning!) so the color is accurate though my skintone may be off.







Underground is a blackened teal. This one reminds me of another Chanel - Nuit De Russie.







Not completely original colors but as a set really awesome!

Catrice Sold Out For Ever

I didn't fall into the Chanel Jade craze mostly because I am cheap not because I didn't think the color was lovely. I was able to swap for Catrice Sold Out For Ever and I'm so glad! I love this jade green with its secret shimmer.

Of course I couldn't leave well enough alone so I added Sinful Pearl Harbor which is clear with little blue and gold flakes. In fact the flakes remind me very much of the flakes in Chanel Illusion D'Or except smaller.
