Jessica Cosmetics Ignite Summer 2010 Collection

Jessica's Ignite collection is six shades of neons for summer. I have to be honest and say that this collection was really outside my comfort zone. I don't own many neons. I think I own four. I remember the neons from the 80's and that isn't a very good memory! The formula on these suprised me. They went on with two thick coats and they weren't streaky. Usually I need to wear a nude base to get good color coverage with neons but not with these. They did dry matte, like neons do, so a topcoat is needed for shine.
Electric Teal is more green than teal and has shimmer. Reminds me of Misa The Grass is Greener on My Side but the Misa is a bit more sheer and has a more pronounced shimmer. It is bright but there is a softness to it. It's pretty. The first photo is as close to color accurate as I could get it.
Purple Burst is a neon purple. This one didn't dry as matte and looks slightly jelly. Reminds me of Essie Perky Purple but the formula on the Jessica is way better. When I wore the Essie it cracked and came off in pieces. I really like this one. It's a neon but it doesn't scream 80's neon. I love the jelly look to it as well. It's almost an elegant neon.
I had a hard time getting a color accurate photo. The first photo shows color and the second shows the brightness of it.
Yellow Flame is a bright, bright neon highlighter yellow. Whoa! Picture this really, really neon!
Pink Explosion is a bright pink neon. This is a bright Barbie neon pink.
Orange Zest is a neon orange.
Blue Blast is a bright blue. This is almost like a jelly formula. It looks nautical without being navy.
My picks are Blue Blast and Purple Burst.
I can't say this was an original collection but I can say that the formula was a hit, especially for neons. So if you're looking for a good neon these may be it. I'm not sure of the release date on these.

The electric teal is quite pretty!
It is! The photos just don't do these colors justice.
