Cover Girl Ice Slicks

When I have a chunk of time I like to go through my stash. It gives me a chance to reacquaint myself with polishes that I haven't worn in a bit or ever. Like these Cover Girl Ice Slicks! I bought these while I was in Texas in 2002. My idea of a souvenir since I couldn't bring home a cowboy. Pity.

They are sparkly and fun. They are also discontinued, sorry!

Diamond Cosmetics Deep Blue Sea

This is pretty much a dupe for Orly Royal Navy. I do find that the shimmer in Deep Blue Sea is a bit more pronounced and there is no settling at the bottom of the bottle. So no crazy shaking. The formula is a bit thicker and less jelly like compared to Royal Navy.

Gorgeous color. Very vivid and the teal shimmer is not shy.

Speciallità HITS Can Can

Can Can has a grape base with blue/green flakes. The base is a bit sheer so this is one coat over American Apparel African Violet. No issue with the formula though the brush is fluffy and scraggly. This kept me from getting a crisp application. I think the Nfu-Oh equal would be 50 except the base of Can Can is a darker purple.

I like it but if you have Nfu-Oh 50 you could pass on this. I bought this from the lovely llarowe.

Rivka Jenny

I wore this for close to two days hence the tipwear. Jenny held up really well for a holo polish since they tend to be a bit delicate. The tipwear isn't as obvious in reality but macro tends to show everything. Cruel.

A deep charcoal holo that only needs one coat for complete coverage. Oh yeah baby! If you have been wanting Color Club Revvvolution and Diamond Cosmetics Chainmail Charm but fear a dud - get Jenny!

I bought this at Colecao de Esmalte.

Essie Luxeffects

I was looking forward to this collection. It doesn't seem to happen very often but I really enjoy when Essie steps outside its own comfort zone. Nothing new to the polish world but new for Essie and fun. I thought the formula on all of them was wonderful. Really great color/glitter payoff with one coat and no need to dig for glitter. Dry time was good and removal was a breeze. Overall I'm ticked with the collection. I bought this collection offline but it is available online at a few spots.

A Cut Above has different sizes of pink/rose glitter in a clear base. Looks very much like Deborah Lippmann's Some Enchanted Evening, LA Girl Glitter Addict in Inspire and a pinker version of Sephora by OPI's Traffic Stopper Copper. One coat over Essie Shelter Island.

Set in Stones has different sizes of silver glitter in a clear base. Kind of looks like Deborah Lippmann's Today Was A Fairytale, LA Girl Glitter Addict in Explosion and Sephora by OPI Flurry Up. One coat over Essie Alligator Purse.

As Gold as it Gets has golden flecks and glitter. Looks much like CND's 24k Sparkle Effect. One coat over Essie Going Incognito.

Pure Pearlfection is a pearly shimmer with little sparks of colored shimmer. Not dupes but this reminds me of CND's Sugar Sparkle Effect and Confetti's Tiara. If you like China Glaze Frosty you will like this one for sure. One coat over Essie Wicked.

Shine of the Times is the flake of the group. It is what I think of as the standard flake that has red/orange to gold/green flakes in a clear base. Lots of dupes to this one like Sally Hansen Hidden Treasure, Nubar 2010, GOSH Rainbow and Nfu-Oh 38. One coat over Essie Hot Coco.
