Butter London 2013 Summer Holiday Collection

I'm a fan of Butter London and I like that I can usually get them with a coupon code or through a sale. It makes the price tag a bit easier to swallow. I saw that b-glowing had the 2013 Summer Holiday collection and since I had a coupon I bought them. I am a bit iffy on the collection as a whole. They are all pretty but nothing new or exciting. I find it kind of boring especially considering the amazing holiday colors they recently released. I loved all of those but these not so much. I do like them but I suggest waiting for a sale if you do fall in love with one but I think these could be duped from other brands that are on the cheaper side.

Bit Faker is an opaque mix of browns, bronze and orange/red glitter. This is one coat with topcoat.

Bobby Dazzler is a pewter/tarnished silver with hint of a lilac undertone. It's very reflective and has a wonderful formula for a chrome polish. It wears well too. I wore this one for close to two days and except for the pointer finger it looks good. This is two coats but I could have done one easily.

Champers is a champagne shimmer. It's a very flattering color on me. This is two coats. The second photo is blurred to show the shimmer better.

Marbs is a bright gold shimmer. It looks oddly green toned on me in reality. I'm not the biggest fan of this one but I can see it looking amazing on someone with darker skintone - which is about 90% of the population. This is two coats.

Poole is the odd man out with this collection. They are all metallic in nature except for Poole which is a dusty aqua creme. The formula is not perfect in that it doesn't self level completely. You can see some creasing in the below photos. The first photo is color correct. It reminds me of other dusty green/blue/aqua colors polishes. This is three coats.

Sun Baker is a vibrant orange shimmer. I like this one! It's very juicy and bright and cheerful. This is two coats.

CrowsToes Heartshaped Box of Horse *!@#!

I love CrowsToes. I'm always excited when I see a new collection released. When the ValenCrows collection was available from llarowe I bought them right quick. She does glitter extremely well plus I enjoy her as a person. This is a glitter packed polish with brown, copper.gold and red glitter. The best part is that there are different shaped glitter which includes square. I love square glitter! I want more square glitter. I'm very happy with this polish.

This is one coat of Heartshaped Box of Horse *!@#! over a pearly white that I made myself. One coat of topcoat over everything.

Layla Coffee Lover

I love coffee and caffeine. I love the bubbles of an icy cold Coke and the slight bitter taste of a strong black espresso. I drink iced coffee all year round. I enjoy a cup of hot, hot, hot coffee with sugar right before bed. I love coffee so when I saw that Layla was putting out a holo with coffee in the name I knew I was going to buy it. Luckily, it's a great color. It's oddly sophisticated for a holo since usually they run to the soft or pastel color range. This is a smokey kind of brown. The formula is fussy but an aqua base really helps.

This is two coats with topcoat.

Picture Polish Demeter

Picture Polish Demeter can be purchased from Harlow&Co and Picture Polish

I enjoy earthy tones when it comes to polish - rust, brown, orange and odd yellow based shades. I like seeing polish companies release them. They aren't always to the taste of everyone but they are to me! Demeter is a rich brown particle holo. When I move my fingers in the sun it's like a wave of rainbow sparkles moving across each nail. The formula was thin but still very opaque at two coats and easy to apply. The below is two coats with topcoat.

CrowsToes Asterope

I wasn't quite ready to remove Misa Bourbon on the Rocks so I layered one coat of CrowsToes Asterope over it. It's the perfect base for Asterope in my opinion. This polish flashes berry red, burgundy, brown/bronze and a golden yellow. It also has shimmer. There are lots of photos because I wanted to show all aspects of this polish. It's a beautiful polish.

Here you can see the shimmer.

Here is a good photo of the duochrome quality.

Here are a few more!

Misa Bourbon on the Rocks

This colors rocks my world. Bourbon on the Rocks is a pretty spot on dupe for OPI German-icure which works for me since I prefer Misa over OPI. It's a rich brown red with shimmer and life. Wonderful formula as well. This is two coats.

Here you can see the shimmer.

I love that it's darker or lighter depending on the angle. It's very lush.

Etude House If Story Nail Kit 2: If the Jack O' Lantern Lights Up

Another duo from Etude House. This one is If Story Nail Kit 2 or If the Jack O' Lantern Lights Up. I bought this from HSC Imports from Ebay.

This is one coat of Jack O' Lantern over China Glaze Electric Beat. It has a clear base with orange/copper glitter and a bit of lilac/purple glitter thrown into the mix.

This is Flickering Lights which has a brown base with orange glitter. This is two coats.
